Rincon – Rivermouth in Ventura County is an exposed point break known for its reasonably consistent surf, especially during the winter months, though summer is typically flat. It performs best when a west-northwest swell aligns with offshore winds from the northwest, with some protection from northerly winds due to the point's orientation. The break favors distant groundswells and is most reliable around low tide as it begins to fall. While the wave quality can be excellent, it often draws a crowd. Surfers should be cautious of hazards such as rocks, territorial locals, potential theft in the parking area, and occasional shark sightings. The best conditions for clean, rideable waves are usually found in winter, with February being the most favorable month.
