📍 Local Knowledge

Redondo Beach in Los Angeles County is an exposed beach break known for its very consistent surf, with the best conditions typically occurring in spring. Offshore winds usually come from the east, and groundswells are more common than windswells, with the ideal swell direction from the west. The beach offers both left and right hand waves and provides good surf at all stages of the tide. When conditions are favorable, it can get quite busy in the water. The best conditions arise when a west swell combines with offshore winds from the east. Winter, especially January, is the prime time for consistent clean waves at Redondo Beach.
