📍 Local Knowledge
Pudding Creek Beach in Fort Bragg, Mendocino County, is a semi-exposed beach break located just below the old train trestle. It picks up swells from the northwest to west and offers soft, peaky waves that are most consistent during small to moderate swell events, especially in late spring through fall. The waves break over a bottom that is primarily sand with some scattered rocks, making it relatively forgiving but still requiring caution. It works best around a mid tide with light offshore winds from the east or northeast. The beach is typically uncrowded, offering a peaceful setting with scenic cliffs and tide pools nearby. Hazards include rip currents, shifting sandbars, and occasional submerged rocks.
