📍 Local Knowledge

Pleasure Point–First Peak in Santa Cruz is a fairly exposed right-hand reef break with consistent surf year-round, performing best during summer, especially in June. The spot picks up mostly groundswells and works optimally when a south-southwest swell coincides with offshore winds from the northwest. Best conditions occur around low tide. It tends to get crowded when the surf is good, and surfers should be cautious of sharks, rocks, and rip currents.
