📍 Local Knowledge

Pitas Point in Ventura is a fairly exposed reef and point break with a reputation for fairly consistent surf, especially during the winter months. It works best when a west-northwest swell pairs with offshore winds from the northeast, with the point offering some shelter from northwest winds. The break is powered primarily by groundswells and features both left and right reef waves, though the rights are generally longer and better. Despite its quality, Pitas Point tends to remain uncrowded, even when the surf is good, offering a more relaxed experience. Surfers should be cautious of the rocky reef. The most reliable and clean conditions typically occur in winter, with January being the best month.
