Pedro Point in San Mateo County is an exposed rock and reef point break that picks up strong west to northwest groundswells, offering a powerful left-hand wall and beach break waves around the Boatdock—best suited for advanced surfers. It performs best on high to incoming tide with light offshore winds from the southeast or east, and delivers the most consistent surf during December through February. The rock and reef bottom creates fast, hollow sections and demands precise navigation. The lineup is rarely crowded, but hazards—sharp reef, strong currents, cold water, and occasional sharks—must be taken seriously.
