Oceano in San Luis Obispo is an exposed beach break that offers reliable surf, with offshore winds from the east being the ideal condition. It experiences both local windswells and distant groundswells, with the best swell direction coming from the southwest. The waves break both left and right and are typically best around high tide when the tide is falling. This spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be cautious of dangerous rip currents. The most consistent clean waves usually occur in summer, particularly in February.
