📍 Local Knowledge

Ocean Beach Jetty in San Diego County is an exposed beach/jetty break with fairly consistent surf, especially during the summer when the best conditions occur. It works best with offshore winds from the east and groundswells, with the ideal swell direction being from the west. The beach break primarily peels left. Hazards include man-made obstacles (such as buoys), pollution, rocks, dog waste, and localism. The best conditions are reported when a west swell combines with an easterly offshore wind, with January being the most reliable month for clean waves.
