📍 Local Knowledge

New Jetty in LA County is an exposed beach and jetty break with fairly consistent surf year-round. It benefits from offshore winds coming from the northeast and some shelter from northwest winds. The spot primarily receives clean groundswells from the west, producing all-right-hand waves best surfed around low tide. It’s a fairly popular break that can get crowded, and surfers should be cautious of strong rips. The best conditions happen when a west swell coincides with offshore winds from the northeast, with winter—especially January—being the prime time for consistent, clean waves.
