📍 Local Knowledge

Morro Beach in Orange County is a moderately exposed reef break with fairly consistent surf throughout the year. It favors groundswells from the south-southwest and offshore winds from the northeast, with the best conditions typically around mid tide. The break features a left-hand reef wave and sees its most reliable clean surf during spring, especially in March. While summer can also bring favorable conditions, expect crowds when the surf is good. Hazards at Morro Beach include rocks, localism, and occasional pollution.
