It performs best when a west swell combines with offshore winds from the north-northwest, producing smooth, mellow waves ideal for beginners and longboarders. The spot is primarily driven by clean groundswells and tends to offer friendly, rolling surf rather than heavy, barreling waves. While it can get crowded—especially on weekends—it generally maintains a welcoming vibe. The most reliable and clean conditions typically occur in winter, with February being the peak month for quality surf at Mondos.
