📍 Local Knowledge

Miramar in Santa Barbara is a sheltered point break offering reliable surf. It receives groundswells more frequently than windswells, with the ideal swell direction from the west. The spot works best around low tide and tends to get crowded when the surf is up. Surfers should watch out for hazards including rocks, private property, and localism. The best conditions occur when a west swell combines with offshore winds from the north. Winter, especially January, is the prime time for clean, rideable waves at Miramar.
