πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Manchester Beach in Mendocino County is an exposed beach break that only works under the right conditions. It favors groundswells from the southwest and performs best with offshore winds from the southeast. Both left and right-breaking waves occur, with the best surf typically found around high tide. While summer offers favorable conditions, the most consistent clean waves are reported in winter, especially in January. When it’s working, it can get crowded. Hazards include strong rip currents, rocks, sharks, and localism.
