📍 Local Knowledge
La Conchita Beach in Ventura is a fairly exposed beach break that often delivers surfable waves, with optimal conditions typically found in the summer. It works best when a southwest swell aligns with offshore winds from the northeast, producing a mix of left and right-hand waves. The break is mainly fueled by groundswells and performs best around low tide. Despite its reliability, La Conchita remains rarely crowded, offering a more relaxed surf experience. However, surfers should be cautious of hazards including rocks, occasional localism, and sharks. The most consistent and clean surf is usually found during winter, with January being the standout month.
