📍 Local Knowledge

Haggerty's in Los Angeles County is a quite exposed reef and point break known for very consistent waves. Winter offers the best surfing conditions here, with offshore winds from the east-southeast being ideal. The spot primarily receives groundswells from the west-northwest, featuring a left-breaking reef and a left-hand point break. Surf is good at all tide stages, but the area can get crowded. Surfers should be cautious of urchins, rocks, locals, and pollution. The best conditions occur when a west-northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east-southeast. The prime time for consistent clean waves at Haggerty's is during winter, most often in January.
