📍 Local Knowledge

Grandview in San Diego County is a consistent exposed beach and reef break that performs best when a Southwest swell combines with offshore winds from the East. The spot receives mostly groundswells and offers both left and right beach breaks alongside left and right reef breaks offshore, working well at all tide stages. Winter, especially November, provides the most reliable clean waves about 55% of the time. The area can get crowded, sometimes even to the point of being dangerous, so surfers should be cautious when conditions are good.
