Poor conditions right now. Tiny waves under 1ft with quality 12s ground swell but strong 16kt winds making it choppy Note: winds from N would be better. Might want to wait for better conditions.

📍 Local Knowledge

Doran Beach in Sonoma is an exposed beach break with inconsistent surf, though it can offer good conditions when the surf is up. It works best in offshore winds from the north, with some shelter from north winds. Groundswells are more frequent than windswells, and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest. The break tends to peel to the right, and it's surfable at all stages of the tide. It can get quite busy when the surf is up, so expect some crowding. Winter, especially February, provides the most consistent clean waves with light offshore winds. Surfers should be cautious of sharks, rips, and rocks. The best conditions occur when a southwest swell aligns with northerly offshore winds.
