📍 Local Knowledge

Doheney State Beach in Orange County is an exposed right-hand reef break with reasonably consistent surf year-round. It performs best with groundswells from the south-southwest and offshore winds from the north. The break works well at all tide stages, with summer—particularly September—offering the most consistent clean conditions. Crowds are common when the surf is up, and surfers should be cautious of rocks and pollution in the area.
