πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Cayucos Pier, Southside in San Luis Obispo is an exposed beach break known for its fairly consistent surf, especially during spring and summer. The best conditions occur when distant southwest groundswells meet offshore winds from the northeast. The beach break produces both lefts and rights and works best around high tide, particularly when the tide is rising. It’s generally not crowded, even during good swells. Hazards include rips and sharks. The best time of year for consistent clean waves is during summer, with February often delivering the most favorable conditions.
