Bunkers in Humboldt County is an exposed beach break with reasonably consistent surf that can work throughout the year. It performs best on groundswells from the west with offshore winds from the southeast. The break offers both left and right-hand waves and is surfable at all stages of the tide. While not always crowded, it can draw a lineup when conditions are favorable. Surfers should be cautious of strong rip currents. The most consistent clean waves are typically found in winter, particularly in January.
