Black’s Beach in San Diego is an exposed beach break known for its powerful, high-quality waves, especially during the winter months from November to March, with January often delivering the best conditions. It performs best with west to northwest swells and light offshore winds from the east or northeast. The spot works across all tides but is often best during mid tide. While less crowded due to its steep hike in, the lineup can still be competitive, and strong currents and shorebreak make it challenging for beginners.
