📍 Local Knowledge

Blackies in Orange County is a reasonably exposed beach and point break that only works occasionally, favoring the winter season. The surf here is best with offshore winds from the northeast and west-facing groundswells. The wave setup includes a beach break with lefts and a left-hand point break, which works best around a rising low tide. Though not the most reliable spot, it draws crowds when the surf is on. Surfers should be cautious of strong rips, especially during larger swells.
