📍 Local Knowledge

Beer Can Beach in Santa Cruz is a fairly exposed point break with consistent surf that works best during summer, particularly in June. Ideal conditions occur when a south-southwest swell meets offshore winds from the northwest. The break receives distant groundswells and is best surfed around high tide, offering both left and right-hand waves. It can get crowded when the surf is good, and surfers should be cautious of rocks, rip currents, and potential shark sightings.
