Beavers in Santa Barbara is a reasonably exposed beach and reef break with fairly consistent surf year-round. It works best with offshore winds from the north-northeast and handles both windswells and groundswells equally, favoring a swell from the west. The break offers both left and right-hand waves and performs best around low tide. It tends to get crowded when the surf is good. Surfers should be cautious of rips, rocks, localism, private access, and sharks. The best time for consistent clean waves is during Winter, particularly in January.
