Beacons in San Diego County is an exposed beach and reef break with very consistent surf that works year-round. It performs best with groundswells from the west and offshore winds from the east, offering lefts and rights on the beach break, along with a right-hand reef break. The spot is surfable at all tide stages, adding to its reliability. While it can get crowded, surfers should be cautious of rocks in the lineup. The most consistent clean waves are typically found in winter, particularly in January.
