πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Bay Street in LA County is an exposed beach break with quite reliable surf year-round. It works best with groundswells from the west-southwest and offshore winds from the northeast. The beach offers both left and right-hand waves and performs optimally around low tide when the tide is rising. It’s a fairly popular spot that can sometimes get crowded. Surfers should watch out for pollution. The best conditions occur when a west-southwest swell combines with offshore northeast winds. January is the prime month for consistent, clean, rideable waves.
