Ballona Creek and Jetty in LA County is an exposed beach and jetty break with fairly consistent surf. It performs best with groundswells from the west-southwest and offshore winds from the northeast, especially around low tide. The beach break typically offers left-hand waves, and while summer can bring optimal conditions, winter—particularly January—is known for the most consistent clean waves. The spot can get crowded when the surf is up, and surfers should be cautious of pollution, rocks, rips, and localism.
