📍 Local Knowledge
Agate Beach in Lincoln County, Oregon is an exposed beach break that offers fairly consistent surf, particularly during the fall and winter months. The break is open to swell from the northwest to west, with the best conditions occurring when long-period groundswells combine with light to moderate offshore winds from the southeast. It works across a range of tides but tends to perform best on an incoming mid to high tide. The waves are typically beach break peaks, offering both lefts and rights. Crowds are generally light, though weekends can see a few more surfers in the lineup. Hazards include strong rip currents, cold water temperatures, and occasional driftwood in the lineup. The best and most consistent clean surf is usually found in November through February.
