πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Sainte Barbe in Brittany is an exposed beach break that is fairly consistent. Best suited to longboards and best around high tide. Summer tends to be often flat. Works best in offshore winds from the northeast. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. This is just one point on a huge arc of beach so relatively few surfers here, even on good days. The best conditions reported for surf at Ste Barbe occur when a Southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast. The best time of year for surfing Ste Barbe with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is during Spring and most often the month of March.
