πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Penthievre in Brittany is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Offshore winds blow from the northeast. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the ideal swell angle is from the west southwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right. Best around high tide. Sometimes crowded. The best conditions reported for surf at Penthievre occur when a West-southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast. The best time of year for surfing Penthievre with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is during Spring and most often the month of March.
