πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Guidel Plages in Brittany is an exposed beach and reef break that has very reliable surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Offshore winds blow from the northeast. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves and in addition there are both left and right reef breaks. Sometimes crowded. Watch out for rocks. The best conditions reported for surf at Guidel Plages occur when a Southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast. The best time of year for surfing Guidel Plages with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is during Spring and most often the month of March.
