It performs best with a north-northwest swell and offshore winds from the east, receiving an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells. The spot features a left-hand point break and is unlikely to be crowded, even when conditions are ideal. However, surfers should remain vigilant as rocks and dangerous rips/undertow are known hazards. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the spring, particularly in March.
