Dame Jouanne in Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, is an exposed reef break with inconsistent surf, particularly during the summer when it tends to be flat. It performs best with a northwest swell and offshore winds from the south-southeast, receiving an equal mix of windswells and groundswells. Due to its location and characteristics, the spot never gets crowded; however, surfers must be cautious as rocks are a known hazard. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the winter, particularly in February.
