The best wind direction is from the east, and most of the surf here comes from groundswells, with the ideal swell angle from the west-northwest. It tends to stay uncrowded, even on good days. Surfers should be cautious of rocks in the area. The best time to surf Marisol with consistent clean waves, which is ideal for light offshore winds and rideable swells, is during winter, with January being the prime month.
