K-40 Puerto Nuevo is an exposed reef break that delivers consistent surf with both left and right peaks that can work at most swell sizes, often offering waist-to-chest high waves and sometimes larger when swell builds. The best conditions come with steady swell from the south and west paired with lighter winds, which help the waves hold better shape, while stronger winds can make the surf more choppy. This spot can be surfed on a range of tides and tends to stay active year-round, making it a good option when swells are present, but riders should be mindful of submerged rocks and reef hazards out the back.
