📍 Local Knowledge

Zippers in Baja Sur is an exposed beach and reef break with consistent surf, offering a right-hand reef that performs well year-round but peaks in summer. The break mainly picks up clean groundswells from the south and works best with offshore winds from the northwest. It provides good waves at all tide stages and is a popular spot that can get crowded. Surfers should be cautious of hazards including sea urchins, rips, rocks, local surfers, and pollution. The best conditions occur when a south swell combines with a northwest offshore wind, with the most reliable clean, rideable waves typically found in summer, especially May.
