📍 Local Knowledge

Shipwrecks in Baja Sur is a fairly exposed reef and point break known for quite reliable surf, especially during summer when conditions are ideal. The left-hand reef primarily picks up distant groundswells from the south and works best with offshore winds from the northwest. The spot is often crowded, and surfers should be cautious of hazards such as sea urchins, rips, rocks, local surfers, and pollution. The best conditions occur when a south swell combines with a northwest offshore wind, with the most consistent clean, rideable waves typically found in summer, particularly in July.
