πŸ“ Local Knowledge

San Hipolito in Baja Sur is an exposed beach and reef break that has pretty consistent surf, with summer offering the best overall conditions. The best conditions occur when a South-southwest groundswell combines with an offshore wind direction from the North-northeast. The location provides a variety of options, including beach breaks with lefts and rights as well as both left and right-hand reef breaks offshore. There are relatively few surfers here even on good days, but visitors should take care of hazards including rips, sharks, and rocks. The best time of year for surfing San Hipolito with consistent, clean waves is during the summer, particularly the month of September.
