📍 Local Knowledge

Punta San Gregorio in Baja Sur is an exposed beach break that only works occasionally, relying mainly on groundswells with the ideal swell direction coming from the west–southwest. The break offers both left- and right-hand waves, is surfable at all stages of the tide, and performs best with offshore winds from the northeast. The best conditions are reported when a west–southwest swell combines with a northeast offshore wind, producing the cleanest, rideable waves. Hazards include rocks and sea urchins, with the most consistent clean surf typically occurring in winter, particularly during January.
