πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Las Barrancas in Baja Sur is an exposed reef break that produces inconsistent surf, driven mainly by clean groundswells with the optimum swell direction from the southwest. The reef offers both left- and right-hand waves and works best with offshore winds blowing from the northeast. The best conditions are reported when a southwest swell combines with a northeast offshore wind, creating the cleanest, rideable waves. Surfers should be cautious of hazards such as rocks and sea urchins, with the most consistent clean surf typically occurring in winter, especially during January.
