📍 Local Knowledge

La Punta in Baja Sur is an exposed beach and reef break with consistent surf, especially during summer when conditions are most favorable. The break primarily receives groundswells from the south and works best with offshore winds from the north–northwest, offering right-hand waves. It can sometimes get crowded, and surfers should be cautious of sharks. The best conditions occur when a south swell combines with a north–northwest offshore wind, with the most reliable clean, rideable waves typically found in summer, particularly in May.
