📍 Local Knowledge

Bahia Tortugas (Turtle Bay) in Baja Sur is a reasonably exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. The best conditions occur when a Southwest groundswell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast. The beach break offers both left and right-hand waves and is rarely crowded. However, surfers should beware of hazards including rips, sharks, and rocks. The best time of year for surfing Bahia Tortugas with consistent, clean waves is during autumn, particularly the month of September.
