📍 Local Knowledge

Bahia Chileno in Baja Sur is an exposed reef break with unreliable waves, though summer offers the best surfing conditions. The break receives distant groundswells from the south–southeast and performs best with offshore winds from the northwest, featuring both left- and right-hand reef breaks. The spot can get crowded at times, and surfers should be cautious of dangerous rips. The most consistent clean, rideable waves typically occur during summer, especially in May.
