📍 Local Knowledge

Acapulquito-Costa Azul in Baja Sur is an exposed beach and reef break with inconsistent surf, performing best during summer when conditions align. The break features a right-hand reef and primarily picks up distant groundswells from the south, working best with offshore winds from the north–northwest. Its surf quality is not significantly affected by the tide, but when the waves are up, the spot is likely to be crowded. The best conditions occur when a south swell combines with a north–northwest offshore wind, with the most consistent clean, rideable waves typically found in summer, especially in May.
