Playa de Luanco in Asturias is a sheltered reef break that offers very reliable surf, although it tends to be mostly flat during the summer months. This spot provides a right-hand reef break produced from an equal measure of groundswells and windswells; while it very rarely gets crowded, visitors should be mindful of submerged rocks. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with Southwest offshore winds, with January being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
