📍 Local Knowledge

Calita in Andalucia is an exposed beach and reef break that does not work very often, particularly during the flat summer months. This spot provides both left and right-handers at the beach and reef, though there is no shelter from cross-shore breezes; however, it is sometimes crowded and submerged rocks are a hazard. The best conditions reported for surf at Calita occur when a West-southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast, and the best time of year for surfing Calita with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is the month of January.
